NeW dOoRs!
I now know, it is people like me, who find it difficult to get out and see what the rest of the world can see easily and regularly as they choose. Ha! An answer to another life long question. =)!
I love catalogs, I rarely order, but I do grab my permanent marker and circle everything I love! Makes me feel like I have gone shopping. I do miss grabbing the fabric of a shirt through my fingers to see how it feels, or picking the hanger up an holding it in front of me to actually get a different perspective. What I miss most is trying the varying styles, colors and outfits on before leaving the store. Spending hours just looking or trying things on. I loved that!
Now, my favorite place to shop is at thrift stores. I just grab everything in my size toss it into a cart and check out. I then try it all on at my leisure at home and can return what doesn't work. Hey, it works! I still get to test it all out! Now that I know what I like and what looks better than others, it has become even easier.
My creativity is hard at work as well to discover what goes good together. Styles from the past still work today! You just have to know how to put things together. I found out that after spending years in bed and not going out at all except to Dr's offices. That my style was dated. My makeup style was dated, and so was my style for choosing clothing. I am not sure that it is still much better. I feel that I missed out on a whole bunch of different styles. And besides having to get a whole new wardrobe from thrift stores, because I had gone down in size 12 whole sizes proved to be an expensive venture, even at thrift store prices! Good news, I am figuring it all out!
I still have to rid my closet of things that make me look as if I were 12 years old. Ha! But, I really love wearing clothes that I would have never dreamed of wearing before. So if you see me in something age inappropriate, just smile and know I will be tired of it soon! But give a girl a chance to express herself before she sends those things back to the thrift store.
I've got several friends who are also loosing! Some are doing it the way I did! Others are doing it differently! I think it is great to find what works for you! One friends Blood Pressure has gotten into normal ranges with the loss of 7 pounds! Another has lost 10-15 and hopes to find hers lowered as well soon. One more is fitting into clothes from her past! She has been just loving it! Yet another keeps shrinking little by little and is using it as an opportunity to spice up her wardrobe with new things! Fun Fun Fun!
I am so excited for everyone! I am also excited for me! As you know if you've been following my journey that I didn't start with my program to loose weight I started it for the vitamins to get my bones stronger, and follow the Dr's recommendations. Side benefit of the program I chose was loosing weight! Yippee!! Size 16 to a size 2! Yeeeks!!
As an additional perk along with some basic Physical Therapy, some help from Luka my Service Dog who tells me prior to my getting one type of my migraines caused from weather and movement, and being on a regular vitamin and cleansing regimen the severity of my migraines has decreased substantially! I still get them about half as frequently or so.. weather has allot to do with that I think, and I am learning what I can and can't do more with therapy so I don't cause more. At any rate the severity has decreased abundantly! Woot Woot Woot! I had inklings of this last year! I dared not say anything for fear that it was just seasonal.
I've been holding out on sharing because I wanted it to be a reality not just a happy thought! I have made almost no migraine trips to the er! Woot!! I have had a few. But amazingly and wonderfully my body is making progress! < Mental Happy Dance Inserted Here =) > Rarely do I actually get up and wiggle!
I told myself, "Self, give it the winter, decide in the spring about how excited you should actually be." Well, it isn't quite spring. But in light of all that is happening and the 40 Degree weather... I am imagining it to be just around the corner.
Thus the gardening book as well!
Now if only the regular daily problems that I face and have would be improved. I did have a great day yesterday. Interesting and everything.
I had my regular massage therapy appointment. Now really understand that going to the therapist that I see is not one of those pleasurable experiences. He isn't one of the phooo foo massage therapists, that heats up rocks and oils and has relaxing scents floating in the air. It isn't lush or fancy it is work. Work on his part the guy who does the Neuromuscular Massage as well as work on mine. This is a painful type of massage it is good pain, but you aren't necessarily filled with energy or renewed afterward. What I notice is a great sense of deep pain relief. I am able to get in and out of the jeep easier, I can hold myself up straighter and I can sit for longer.
I have to hold back the tears many day. Hold back the cries for the therapy to stop. I just focus on breathing to get through it each week. It hurts, but the short amount of time he works on me will give me relief for much longer. The pain is good pain, the relief comes at a price. It is one of the least invasive and healthiest ways I can get some relief.
Pills don't take away the pain they just hide it. Getting this done each week, brings back the blood flow to my arms, makes it possible to move and hold my head up stops or reduces the sciatic pain. For me it is a necessary evil. =) I say this with a bit of humor, as my therapist is so not evil.
This type of massage isn't the one that you want to get if you want to feel like you've just gone to heaven and you feel all floaty and dreamy. Before my auto accident I used to go for those! Ahhh! I remember the days! < Dreaming> Dream over..
Find out more about this type of therapy. Click Here
My particular massage therapist is the best I have ever been to. I will tell you more soon I promise.
Well, I did read a couple more pages in my gardening book. Which I think will help me choose what to plant. I had hoped to get to the library, but the library here in town is tiny and has absolutely no good place for me to be. Which is frustrating because I grew up going to the library! My mom worked at one and so did my mother in law. My sister having told me about her library (the one I grew up using) shared that she could access her's online. I don't think mine has that option. I have looked online. Grrr.
So I am now reduced to doing what so many others must do. Take advantage of those crazy things that come in the mail. Use the internet to buy things and order from catalogs instead of stores. Not horrible for sure. Much preferred to my anxiety of going new places. With out a doubt it is a much better option as well, as Jason hates to shop.
I love to lollygag and look at everything that is new. Go down isles, look touch and peruse. He is a man on a mission. Really these days that is the way it works for me to. I most of the time don't have the energy to cruise the entire store.
With my Physical Therapy, I have really focused on walking enough with the crummy weather this winter, consistent snow and ice this has presented a problem for me. We did get a tread mill for $50 from Craigslist. I have a feeling the $50 would have been better spent on snow melt. The darn thing hardly works. Jason would rather I not hop on. If he does well the darn thing just won't move. And the noise! Yia Yie Eie.. it really is sadly comical =).
So, that hasn't been the best investment. This spring and summer when people once again don't want theirs maybe we can find something better. I am finally feeling able to be walking again anyway. The weather thankfully may even be cooperating! I am sure thankful for that!
Luka is resting here with me today. We are both tired from yesterday. My old guy really needs som good weather too!is still doing well at not aggravating his allergy sores. Thank goodness, soon hopefully with vigilance he will be thoroughly healed!
Yesterday, after the therapy appointment, we were interviewed! Yep! Interviewed! About LB858! I will be sharing more about this soon too! Allot more. That is all that I will be saying for now.
There is more but it will have to wait. It is taking me forever to write today.
Blessings and new doors to new places!

sHoEs – bOoTs – sOcKs…
So after my busy day yesterday, my body was grateful to wake up today and not be headed out. I was sore. Not unbelievably so but enough to make it a more relaxed day around here.
Things have kept me busy, which is nice. I have more and more to do. I like that. I really need to finish up some projects so I feel like I have completed some things though. I have tons of unfinished things that I am working on. So I won’t be adding much of anything unless it happens to fall with Jason’s photography or finishing other things I have already started.
I hope to have a few things finished up tomorrow. Getting some orders sent out to some great gals, and finishing up a design set for a contest I will be submitting tomorrow.
Yesterday was nice, I was able to finally get some socks to wear, I had been needing some more especially since it is so cold. I am up wearing shoes and socks so much more now, so that is good. Before the accident the few socks I did have sufficed. I wore nylons everyday for work. Skirts high heels, and nylons, I had piles of them. Now it is sneakers, boots, and comfy shoes for me. I’ve really been needing some more socks. I got three pairs last year. That had helped, and when I run out I do raid Jason’s stash… But his all are so big!
I now have more of my own! Yea! I also got a nice soft pair of Cuddle Duds! I used to have a pair but they are huge and don’t stay up and so I’ve had to rehome those.
So I am set! Thanks go Christmas and Birthday gifts I also got some great shoes too! I so needed them! I was hoping to have pictures to share. I do of two pairs of the shoes but the third they haven’t been captured yet.
Great friends hooked me up! I had tried them on while visiting. I didn’t want to take them off. My hips hurt less with them on my feet than when they are off. Thank God! I guess surgeon’s wear these, nurses and doctors do too! Virtually anyone who stands around enjoys having them hold their arches up!
What are these shoes you ask??? DANSKO shoes! I am in LOVE! How do you find them?? You can find them Here! Or you can find more about them at their company site too! Here! OooLaLa! And no I wish I’d gotten something free to plug them, ok well I did get them as a gift, but not from the company! So hugs to the B’s for my D’s!! The ones she chose for me go with everything! Rumor has it she may even get a matching pair!! How fun is that! Of course if she doesn’t we could always switch around since we do wear the same size!!
My favorites happen to be the Professional style, they seem to have a wider base and great support. I prefer them over the other style I tried on that she had!
Check them out here!!
And here!!
And here!
Can you tell I am in love with them? I hope so! They do feel really really great, and for comfy shoes, well they are as cute as can be! YipEE!!
Photo’s taken by Jason of course!! Yea!
Moving on to another favorite pair. This is the pair of boots that Jason was hoping for me to get. He has wanted me to get some good snow boots. We’ll he did get me a pair of boots, sort of… I picked them out, thinking they would be both comfortable and great in the snow.
I’d been hoping to find some brown boots, but well, I couldn’t find any that were in my price range that I thought would also be comfortable.
I ended up getting a black pair… Problem… they weren’t exactly warm, they were non insulated.. I got them off the internet… I figured more socks… well, that meant I needed to get more socks… Hey, it is all happens in time, RIGHT?
Well as life unfolded…
when my family came to give me a surprise birthday party, the gift they brought me was a lovely pair of boots! Lined with fur type stuff. They are what my niece calls Fuggs! Fake Uggs! I love them!
As luck turned out she got a pair too! Fun! Here are our legs in our Fuggs!!
My family did such a great job, when I pulled them out of the box… Jason exclaimed, “ THATS THE KIND OF BOOTS THAT WILL KEEP YOU WARM.” That is so wonderful!! They read his mind! How cool is that!
So now I have a black pair of boots a warm pair of boots and a wonderful pair of shoes to wear anywhere! With some socks to go inside as well! Life is good, my feet are starting to feel happy again!
Now to make Luka’s feet happy! I am ordering a pair of Fleece Lined Boots for his feet as well. As it stands, he is still healing. At least he is healing! So in preparation for having him out in this snow. He will be needing some good boots. I can’t have his feet getting all wrecked again. Ouch, that is no good for sure! I will be ordering from Here! As a bonus they give discounts to people who have dogs like mine! I am so grateful for their caring. Otherwise I would have a much harder time affording these for him.
I will show them to you when I get them. I plan to order him blue ones or black ones.. I want to order him pink ones to match the leash I use with him, but I guess that would be over the top! Since he is a boy after all… Maybe red.. Hmm. I am going to have to think about this…
Too many details!
Blessings and Warmth,

oK … yOu!
I am ok, you, get with the program! This is something in one way or another I keep on telling myself. Get on track stay on track, get it done, work on it now, so you’re not late! Sometimes I am late anyway.
But this week, most of it which I can’t remember right now, I worked on setting myself up to be successful.
I plan for everything now. It all takes extra time and effort. It is worth it.
I am getting faster at things! Which is a relief all unto its own.
Oh, yea! I had Physical Therapy this week! My body finally got the latest exercise right! I think 1/2 of my problem is that I don’t know how to control my muscles anymore, which should do what and which should do the other. It isn’t something that just works for me. I find I do things like walking one way, but that way causes pain… the right way well I haven’t completely got that one figured out, but the right way shouldn’t cause pain. But I guess this is what all of these years in bed has done to me.
So at therapy, my body got moving my legs right! In one area! Oh my it made such a difference! I am looking forward to repeating it, I felt a significant difference after my work. Not perfect but WOW! BETTER! Better is better! I will definitely take better!
It has been a great week! I was even able to host a party! We had about 1/2 of the folks attend who RSVP’d which turned out just great! It was so much fun to have people in my space. I am not miss social like I was, but wow, I had a great time. I missed having the energy to sit and talk with each person. I did manage to get a welcome and a thanks for coming to most everyone though, I was able to participate, and keep things like food doing well. Jason was the real host! Quite the switch! Not that he’s not been capable of that but I’d always taken the lead before. He even went so far as to walk most everyone out!
He cleaned like a maniac all day and even worked on it prior to that day as well. Taking me grocery shopping and patiently waiting while I did all that I could do and then he’d finish up the rest. He’s just been so great! THANKS BUNCHES BABE!
Now today, I slept almost all of it or hopped on the computer, then slept, watched a football game, and slept through it a bit too. I got up about 6 or so fed the boys, they’d been so good sleeping with me! I’d been in quite allot of pain and could hardly move, I managed to get rid of the migraine I had, the clue I couldn’t see when I woke up was a definite give away today! I had thought I might need a little rest after my busy day yesterday, I think tomorrow will be better, but wow, writing this I am so tired again as well. It was so worth it! I miss seeing people, I miss entertaining!
I used to do a party every week! I was never the best party thrower, but I had a great time, and so did the MK gals that came! While last night wasn’t a MK party, it was just something for our friends. It was wonderful. I do one tomorrow again if I could, but I don’t think my body will be thinking the same thing. Maybe soon!
Jason even had a great time, I think he was initially mad at me for inviting people over. He hates that our house isn’t perfect, that we have so many issues that need fixed. He doesn’t feel good about sharing our unfinished home with others. He is a perfectionist. The fact that we don’t have a “REAL” floor covering in his mind, or that people have to enter our home through the garage because we have no front steps…
My take on it is exactly the opposite. We live where we live if they don’t like it they don’t have to come over! We are not where we live! I won’t apologize for something I can’t do anything about! When I can’ do something about it I will, but I am not letting that stop me from having people in our lives and in our home.
He had fun! He really did! He did the best job ever! It was wonderful to see him so happy! I know that he made others feel great also! We are going to do it again! It won’t be for a little while, we deserve it and so do our friends! A little fun with friends makes the bad stuff disappear! He may even end up loving his new role as host!
My life is getting better and better!
Blessings and grateful thoughts! I am going to take another Apple Cider Vinegar bath now and go back to sleep, the few hours I’ve been up have made me exhausted again. And I’ve got party to clean up for tomorrow! Yes it can wait yet another day! HUGS!

MiRiCLe DaY….
My mini Miricle day, today. I was able to clean the house! Don’t know that’s what I should have been doing, but it is driving me nUTZZZZZZZZZZZ My friend B and two twin toddlers came over, my dad is staying over… … The house was dirty dusty and has been a wreck for way to long for any person to handle… Ok, for me to handle… funny I am sure for those of you who grew up with me…
But when you look at these things day in and out pretty soon things start to drive you wonkey! I had the energy today, don’t know why because I couldn’t sleep last night, and here I sit again tonight wide awake typing this…
I was up at 3 and sewing for something to do, I hand repaired a pair of work out pants. That took until about 6 am when Jason left for work. I then went back and slept til 8… got up and started cleaning things. I really didn’t plan on going cleaning crazy, but as I finished one thing I would then start another. My friend arrived with her twins… I felt good. They could play, and she didn’t chase them around cleaning them up. Whew! We could actually have a conversation! Not much of one mind you toddlers are a hand full, and twins in a non child home.. well you get the picture.
After they went home, I watched the rest of the game… not that it turned out the way all of us here wanted it to. But hey. I relaxed. Then I couldn’t take it anymore. My room was the worst of them all, clothes piled, dog hair, unorganized yuck!… It is so much better now.
Lately I have also discovered that I am allergic to something. What I am not sure… I thought that by getting things cleaner that would help.. But I didn’t do the fan, the windows are still open, the dust on the top of everything is still there, and I am sure the sheets on our bed could use washing.. not to mention everything else I didn’t get done… but hey! I had a REALLY GREAT DAY! I got some thing done! WOOT!
My dad whom I see rarely, hopefully won’t be miserable while staying here either. I say that because he is also allergic to things as well.
I have a feeling in the future that won’t be happening much either.. I think I am a downer.
Life is so weird.…
Well, someday, I hope this is all resolved in a better way than it is now. I am working toward that anyway. Looking for more Miracle Days for me! I’ve got lots I want to do.. and to my therapist.. sorry I broke the rules, but as I am married and my hubby has only been home minimal amounts of time…. someone has to do these things, because it isn’t healthy either!
Oh, I am getting sleepy… Now if Only I could breathe…
blessings and hopefully some zzzzzzzzz’s!

ThE wEeKeNd!
Sleep, is something on my mind today. Actually that is about all that is on my mind. I sit here and write this I am watching the show called the Dr’s also. They have been talking about sleep. I slept this morning off and on after taking some of the Migranol… I like that stuff, because it usually works… I hate the stuff because it takes a while, tastes terrible, and I have to squirt it in my nose. Yuck! It is one of the latest medications I have been switched to. It is one that actually will work. I am grateful for that.
I’ve been teasing off a migraine all weekend. I haven’t been able to kick it, but I have been able to keep the build up of pain under some control. For that I’ve been grateful.
This weekend was super great for me. I was determined to go participate in as much as possible, even if I would have been miserable and highly medicated. Much to Jason’s disagreement I am sure. This weekend held in store a reunion of a place that both Jason and I used to work. This meant fun with rarely seen friends, as well as friends that we see often.
Friday, I was busy but ended well, I rested as much as I could to prepare for Saturday as well. Saturday came and Jason Luka and I headed out in time for lunch. We sat with Wendy, Kelvin, Lisa, Larry, and Karl, it was a great lunch except for Jason having to leave in the middle of it to help with a car wreck. He arrived back several hours later. Lunch finished, and more friends continued to arrive. I got to spend some time with Dave, Levi, Morgan and Rosey, we walked over to see the train, and we saw the paddle boats on the way, I sat while the kids climbed all over the train, and we were soon joined by Lisa, Jen and Elizabeth. We sat and talked for a while, soon Jen and Elizabeth headed off to the craft area, Lisa and Rosey headed off shortly after, and Levi and Morgan had finished with the train, and the rest of us headed over to the craft area as well. I definitely got my 2 block walk in. Luka and I plodded along slowly and easily over the grassy terrain. We did great. Speaking of trains, he was so excited he was like a freight train all weekend pulling me along for the ride.
Over at the craft area, Morgan joined Jen and Madie and Elizabeth making tie dye scarves. Levi, Dave and I made paper, and then we made more paper when Morgan joined us. Jason showed up and helped hold friend O strings. It was a great time! The kids each got some great things to take home. We walked back up just in time for snow cones! MMMMMmmm! I ate mine and got changed for swimming! Jason drove me to the pool, so I wouldn’t get to tired for the rest of the day. While I didn’t end up swimming, I had a great time sitting by the pool watching everyone else in the water. I got there, and the clouds had come rolling in, the water was already quite chilly I knew so getting in didn’t seem to be a good option for me. Jason, Brent, Jen, Madie, Elizabeth, Dave, Levi, Morgan, Jen, Sue, their kids and a few more were playing in the pool with noodles and splashing around. I met Krista who’s the cousin of my friend Leslie, while she was life guarding. She was super great, and Luka and I enjoyed the afternoon watching the people swim in the pool. I think we were some of the last to leave the pool. I have been wanting to go swimming all summer. I got to twice in hotel pools, which was nice. I wanted to swim outside with friends, I have that to look forward to next year I guess.
It isn’t that I am a great swimmer, but I just enjoy the floating in the water in the sun. With friends it would even be more fun. I am excited also because my therapist has gotten a new therapy pool! I really can’t wait to try that out. Right after the accident I attended Senior water aerobics classes. I couldn’t do all of the things, but I would do what I could. I miss that.
The rest of the weekend was great too, Supper which wasn’t that great but the company was! The talent show was a stitch thanks to the Church Lady showing up to MC. Not to mention all of the talented alumni who performed. We had a great fireside worship followed by a fun campfire! Jason had carried me up the hill, we brought my nice chair to sit in and we stayed for most. I had started to get a chill and needed to go down, before I got to cold. We hung out with Wendy and Jeremy and Kerin soon arrived as well in the lodge entry.
It was a great night, we hung out for a while with Brent, Jen, Wendy and Jeremy, and kids. Everyone else we learned later was staying in a different part of the camp. They were hanging out in the other building, I needed to go home anyway. So did others.
Saturday was a great day! Bundles of fun with friends. I took these pictures at the fun campfire on Saturday night. I was sitting in my seat behind everyone in the fire ring. I got to see all of the action.
Here are some other pictures from my week!
Luka at the dentist with me!
Socks needing repair Sock to be used for the booties
Luka happy with his new booties!
Luka’s booties don’t last long but until we figure out how to control his allergies we will keep his feet covered! Yes, Luka chews on his feet until they are bloody. Ouch! Wish we could afford the allergy test that would give us definitive answers. But we will keep trying to find what the culprit could be. He has these allergies year-round. So sad!
Sunday’s events included being picked up by Wendy and Kerin attending CampFest and painting faces! I even got to attend the concert that night! Woot! We hung out again at the lodge building where my friends this night were the ONLY ones to be staying there. Everyone else was in the Hotel. We had a great time! Top Secret PLAN was started! HMMMMmmmMMMMmm????? Hee Hee! We have some fun things we are going to do! I can’t say more, I’ve found out that people are actually reading this and so I can’t spill the beans!
Another great day! Boy I was tired when Brent dropped me and my things off at home! Sleep came so easy!
Monday brought an adoption for Duke! His forever family picked him up!
Duke and Luka hanging out while I make Luka’s booties!
Our Room, this is where I spend my time. These are my new curtains while they are open! It makes for a nice place to sit I can listen to the birds, and watch the trees wiggle! This is one of the only places where I am actually comfortable. I am glad we have such a colorful room! Other wise I might really get depressed!
Ozzie and Jason on his side of the bed! We used to never allow our guys on the bed. Since it is hard for me to get on the floor with them, we now invite them up!
Trying to catch us all in the picture!
Bye Duke, We are all glad that you’ve found your forever family! Have fun in Iowa!
Blessed each day!

MiNdNumBinG ChAoS!
Grrr. I've been saying that allot lately. It has been over a month since I have had the mental/emotional/as well as the timelyness factor to be able to write this post. My month has been totally out of control. I plan everything ahead of time, thank goodness I've started doing that. At least that is the way the month started out. Somethings are not able to be planned for but those that I can prepare for early I sure make every attempt to do.
I had the things for my garden planned out early... my plans fell through, but other options have risen, and I am making the most of those. The garden is still not all planted yet, but at least I've gotten it started. Jason has agreed to help me get the rest of that in, of course that will have to wait till next week sometime.
I ended up making a trip to a town with a great monument to tour. Jason taught a class and I was able to go with him! It made for a great Cinco de Mayo trip. I even won a tee-shirt! I love it too!!! Jason's mom made a great recommendation to try out a resturaunt! The night was fabulous, great friends, and great food!
On our way into town, we stopped by a natural rock formation and took pictures. We made it just in time to get a few pictures in before the sun had completely set. We travel and try to stop and read those histerical markers. At least that's what we call them. We drove into town, and checked in to the hotel then went looking for food. That took us quite a while, this town shut down at 9pm. Nothing was open. Thank goodness for Taco Bell, who's hours everywhere are super great!
His class was over, and the next day we took advantage of the morning and early afternoon to go see the sights. It went perfectly! I was feeling well this morning, after a week of on again off again migraines. I got better just in time to go out to eat the night before. And I was feeling great this morning! Jason was shocked! I haven't been able to walk that much in a long time. We didn't walk more than 300 yards total, but hey, we didn't have to for most of the things. Jason drove us up, and had just planned to do that. He'd drive, I'd get out and stand or sit, and then we'd be gone to the next area.
I had other plans. I wanted to give walking the paths a try! It worked out great, we went slow and we got to go on a couple of short trails, so that we could enjoy the views on the goregous day!
We took pictures, and read about each area, Luka enjoyed it as well. He was able to get out and sniff around for a while, so much better than smelling things from the back of the Jeep.
Things went so well we stopped at a state park on our way home. I didn't walk as much there, but we did get out and take a few more pictures.
Our trip home was interesting. The Jeep decided that it needed to have a pitstop. We chugged into a town along the road. We sat for a while while the awesome Jeep Dealership fixed it up and off we went again. By this time I was feeling the activities of the day. I had begun medicating. With all of the activity I hadn't noticed, and nither had Luka, he was too focused on the new surroundings, and then getting as much sleep as he could, that boy was exhausted. He'd been watching me for days with my migraines catching many of them, but even then it took some time for me to be out of that pain. It had been varying from a couple of hours to about 8 or so hours.
This time was to be one that reminded me how lucky I am now. With Luka, with the Radial Neuropathy Injections, with the medication, with the added strenghth I have, all of these things have made it better. Jason is even dealing with this better. Although we still have our moments. It turned out, that this migraine would last 5 days. All day all night, all of the things that are bad about getting them happened. I even tried to go to the ER to get some help from the Dr's. That didn't work either. The last couple time's I have gone, it seems they have changed how they treat people with migraines. They don't give them pain meds they give them other things. Which would be fine if it worked.
They asked me after the IV of fluid and medications, how I was feeling. I felt two different ways. 1. If I wasn't moving and didn't have to talk I felt pretty good, the pain was less. 2. If I had to talk or move at all, I would say or do anything to not have to move at all! It was HELL! So, since this form of treatment may work on other people, it does not work on me. The migraine lasted 3-4 more days, it never went away, and I just began taking all the medication I thought I could keep down, and not get in to trouble with.
That sucks! I would have rather been at the hospital being monitored. But since their protacols are different now, I seemed to have no choice. This had to stop. I was told after I came out of the migraine that everyone was very worried about me. I was in a coma like state just moaning and sleeping, or throwing up for days. I didn't eat much and I slept and slept and slept. I kept the ice on my head and neck. Also had it on my back.
Durring this time, there were many promises that I couldn't keep. I just kept putting things off one more day, one more day, .... I felt so bad that I couldn't even ask anyone to do those things for me. It would have been to hard, and too painful to get what I needed done.
My client Kristy, I remember I spent many days worried about her MK order not getting out. But I couldn't do anything about it other than worry about it. Now Kristy, is very nice, and she was more than gracious. It isn't that. I just hate not doing what I say I will do. I hate not being able to follow through. I was also supposed to be getting the garden in the flowers planted, other MK orders out, and the house cleaned, and food made for a birthday party and a graduation party to be held at our house. These are things that others could pull off, but not as I had planned.
To our teenager who the parties were for, our house was already clean in her mind. (keep in mind that she came from a home where the mother wasn't able to clean for years!) I am determined to not let that be me. It might take me longer, things might not be perfect, but they will be done as good as I am able to do them. And with that I will be satisfied.
And that's how it went. I got better from this episode. Luka by my side, now feeling guilty for watching me suffer so. He was like glue. I've been to my Dr again, and the new medication is 1/2 gone already this season has brought many barometer changes. Aie Yie Yie.. Not to mention I am pushing myself to make sure that things are accomplished. Jason is working all he can, and well our teenager is a teenager. While concerned and helping, is helping like a typical teen who is self absorbed, and focused on her social life. I was the same way, no amount of talking to would make this better, at least not for the long haul, we had had a couple of talks but none that warrented any long term change.
We just hope that as she grows up and has personal responsibilities that she will fufill her obligations. But since she hasn't had the best examples of that in the past, we are just trying to be the best examples that we can. She will constantly compare, in her mind an occasionally verbally, that everything is already better, cleaner, nicer or whatever than it was, and did make the comment that so many people would be thrilled with our home as it is, that it was just fine it didn't have to be perfect.
While that is true I know. The standards that I have set for myself and that I expect from myself are not set this low. While I've had to compromise, I am certainly not willing to give up, on the cleanlieness, or the fixed up portions. If I can find a way, I will make a way!
Her birthday was great! Thank goodness for tax money. We had planned to bank it, but with having those that had promised to help us with her, find other places for their financial assistance, we had invitations out for these things by now, and that made it our responsiblity to follow through with them. Graduation and her birthday, used up the money. We had combined her party with another who was graduating. That did help, while we had double the people, we had others responsible for things as well. As I knew even on my best day, that I would never be able to make the salads and sides needed to feed people. I made BBQ pork, I made allot 4 shoulders worth. OUCH! I should have picked something easier, but never having done it before, and having planned to do it a couple weeks in advance, well, the timing didn't work out, and it was done just in time.
The arthritus in my hands was going full force and the pulling apart of the fat and the meat about did my hands arms and back in. But it did turn out to taste very good. It was a success. I spent up to the moment getting things ready, and everyone pitched in. We have a neighbor guy and gal who it wouldn't have been possible with out their help. I did allot of dishes, and I felt pretty good for the day.
During graduation Luka caught another one. I took my meds and Jason took me home early. I didn't have time to rest, I just had to hope that Luka had caught it in time, and the meds would now do their job. I stayed in the kitchen, as that is all I could manage. No extra people, and nothing more to focus on than one thing at a time.
Outside there were people everywhere! It went well. Off with out a hitch. Two happy seniors, and the house was cleaned up for the most part that night! Phew!
Now the past days have been for catching up. Gardening, watering, paperwork, regular cleaning and such. We've seen a few friends, done a few things. Tonight is the first time I am finding my head clear enough to write this post. While there have been many more things go on. Over all I am proud of how I handled everything. I did as good as I could. I didn't give up, and I think most things went very well.
I guess that is all that I can ask of myself. We are headed out tomorrow for another trip to one of Jason's jobs. We are so fortunate to have such good friends! We could have never done this with out everyone's help!
We are broke but thankful we did our best! Should we have spent the money? I don't know. I have guilt about it for sure. Could we have done it less expensive? I believe so, I never dreamed that those who had promised to support her and us for doing this would not. Hindsite being what it is, we should have just served cake! But, we made it through, our bills are paid on time. Somehow, it happened. God is good! Thank God and Thanks to my MK and Jason's extra jobs!
Phew!
I hope to post some pictures of my garden soon too!! Check out my facebook for most pictures! And as usual I am now by far too tired to check my spelling and grammer... So I appologize, but this blog is not about that so on to publishing and bed I go!

CoUNtDoWn 3 2 1 ChRiSTmAs!
Today, after waking up and having to take some medication, I was letting my fur kids out, and I noticed our neighbor guy walking up our drive with goodies in his hands. LIGHT BULB moment. I went in to the house to grab the plates of goodies I had gotten ready last night for my neighbors. He shared with me as I answered the door that my neighbor to the left had asked him to bring over a loaf of nut bread. I shared with him that I had goodies for his family too, and for other neighbors, he said that he could deliver them! This guy is great, he is a young fella, and he loves to do nice things to help out. So, I feed him goodies for his efforts! It seems to work out just great.
All of my neighborhood goodies got delivered, and I did not even have to venture out onto the slick streets. Woo Hoo!
This afternoon, my Mary Kay delivery's are being made by our Teenage Friend's boyfriend. He is running those things around for me! Thanks to Joan and Susan S. for their orders, he even took a few things to the post office, so now I have more presents being delivered via USPS... With my computer being broken, I can't do the postage thing at home at the moment, it used to be so convenient, through www.stamps.com but now, I have to do it the old fashioned way.
That reminds me I need to call and get my computer scheduled for repair. That is going to be my Christmas Present! It should actually be our Teenage Friend's present, since I've been using her computer allot, she is so gracious!
Well, I've got lots more things to do today, laundry, dishes, floors, and make chocolate covered pretzels, sort my Mary Kay, and do a little sewing for Christmas. Hmmm... the medication worked but I am also feeling I need a nap, after sleeping all of the morning to get rid of a migraine, I really wish I was not tired. I will be hanging out by myself the rest of the day, I'd better get the day organized so I can be ready for what tomorrow holds.
Christmas is coming and even though I will be spending Christmas on my own as Jason works, I still want to have everything done as then I can do whatever I want the whole day I want nothing left that NEEDS to be done to do. I just want to enjoy my time with reading, drawing, or whatever crosses my mind.
Maybe I will feel well enough to travel to Jason's work to see him on Christmas Day? I haven't ever been to his work. We'll see!

pLAnS & PReP
Breakfast, get our teenage friend out to work with a lunch, I got myself all ship shape, and then cleaned up Luka's mess from the back yard. I took some pictures, went to see a neighbor, and then went to Dena's Tuppaware Sale. Pretty tired after that so here I sit in bed resting, Jason insisted, he is right he is ALWAYS right!
Last night I was searching through some other blogger posts, and I found the coolest song! It is by an Indonesian 14 year old, her name is Gita Gutawa and her song is called Kembang Perawan, she is on www.ilike.com and a few other sites, not to mention www.youtube.com. I think I have listened to that song about 50 times since last night. I can't even understand what she is singing about, but her voice is so lyrical, it just speaks to my soul.
Jason was super sweet, on my facebook site, I had mentioned that I wanted to get an Ipod so I could listen to this song over and over and over! That's what I do, I am like a little toddler, I want to see my favorite movies and my favorite songs, even my favorite audio cd's Over and Over and Over and Over, DRIVES HIM NUTS!
I remember when I would be driving a million miles a week, I would listen to the same training CD's he would ride with me and hear the same thing over and over again, he just could not take it. For starters the CD's usually featured a southern accented woman, and by the end of the trip I would be talking with my Ya'all's intact... I am not from the south, I have no real southern accent and he would be quite annoyed by the end of our trip.
I usually would give my CD's a break when he would ride with me, at least for half of the trip. I never seemed to get anything soaked into my brain and then into my daily activity unless I really focused on making the effort, and by listening to my training CD's I would find that slowly but surely without much effort other than listening while driving my life would start to adjust in the manner I had been directing it. This is the method of preference for me, as making a concentrated effort to stick to something is something that I found difficult. Now, after my accident, since everything is new to me once again, I am learning a new way of life with new routines, the things I have learned in the past are able to help me shape the activities and routines of what I am determined to focus on.
Before when I was young, I'd inherited, some of my mom's procrastination issues, over time and with a great deal of work on my part, I had curbed those issues. I did procrastinate a bit but my focus was to always have things done early, therefore, I was almost always on time with everything as being on time was for me considered late.
Still to this day, I am focused on having things done in advance, probably even more so than before. With the daily issues that I face, I never know if I will be having huge pain issues, and since they can last several days in a row with no break, I really want to be on top of the things that I have committed to doing.
It does mean saying no more often, and it does mean doing things sooner than anyone would normally think of doing them, for instance, I have already started planning for my garden next year, my Christmas shopping was done at the begining of December, and I chose not to push my self to go with the neighbor to see the homes that were decorated for Christmas today, as I have another neighbor coming over to help me with a bridal shower I am throwing for a completely different neighbor. I've gotta have enough energy to get it all done, the houses would surley been fun to see! But I have committments to keep!
I must follow through, I must be prepared, and I must create contingency plans in case my body does not follow my plan!
Tonight we will be vegitables! I can't wait! We will watch what ever is on TV, or a movie from our favorites, and just veg! How nice will that be!
I am going to go, since I have more to follow through with, dishes, Bethanne's order, a past client reconnected yesterday thanks Mary! Susan will be coming over tomorrow for MK and I need to be ready today! Got lots of things to get done! Blessings!! I am off!
